Community speed Watch

For the information of the parish council and the community the following operations are long standing operations which will result in a Police presence in your area.

OP JOYPAD – This is a seasonal campaign which runs twice a year, namely when the weather brightens up and people spend more time in their back gardens and also when we enter the Autumn period. This operation focuses on checking the security of houses and providing crime prevention advice. On occasions we may undertake this operation on and ad hoc basis if we suddenly see an increase in burglaries.

OP CORDIAL – This is our reactive response to burglaries, if a burglary occurs then the Police will attend the address of the victim and will also contact other addresses within the street. A date will be set in the future to attend the street and provide security advice and property marking.

OP COLLABORATE – This is our “promise” to be in the more isolated areas between certain times and on fixed dates.  Although we will specify when we will be there, this is a flexible initiative so if there is a better time/date we will always try to accommodate this. For this to work we really need to the community to engage with us and tell us when there is an engagement opportunity that will allow us to meet as many people as possible this could include coffee mornings, quiz nights, guide/scout meetings, school fayres etc. etc.

This is YOUR opportunity to use YOUR neighbourhood policing team how YOU would like.

OP LIBERATE – This is a planned antisocial behaviour operation where the NPT target areas where ASB has been reported.  This occurs throughout the weekend in the school summer holidays and at other times such as Bonfire Night and mischief Night. Obviously we can’t tell you where exactly we will be, but we will be where we are needed.
